2022 Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir

The second release of our Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir is a delightful wine with a red fruit profile. Displaying Bing cherry, dried cranberry and lingonberry, the fruit notes meld into a bouquet of baking spice, rose hip, and Earl Grey tea aroma. On the palate, the flavors are bright and fresh leading with pomegranate, cherry cola, a delightful floral lift that round into a smooth tannin profile. The Goldridge soils in this vineyard contribute to the elegant and refined tannins, with hints minerality and earthiness on the finish. Enjoy now through 2030.

The 2022 Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir was harvested September 9th, 2022. This wine is made up of clone 667 and clone 777 grapes that were gently destemmed and then trasfered to seperate tanks for a 5 day cold soak. After cold soak the tanks were innoculated and fermentation commenced with two pumpovers per day. At the completion of fermentation the clones were kept seperate and the wine was transfered to 30% new French Oak barrels. The clones were blended when malo-lactic fermentation was finished in November 2022 and aged as a complete wine for the remaining 10 months prior to bottling. This wine is unfined and unfiltered.
