2019 Imperatus
The grapes for the 2019 Titus Imperatus were harvested on October 29th 2019, from the Sugarloaf Vineyard in Southern Napa. The vineyard is planted on a rocky slope with a West facing aspect to take advantage of the cool mornings and long afternoon sunlight throughout the entire ripening season. After the fruit was received at the winery it was destemmed directly to tank where it was macerated for 14 days. At the conclusion of fermentation the free run wine was drained from tank and racked to 100 % new French oak barrels. The barrel selection for the Imperatus comes from the forests of Bertrange and Allier, two highly sought after forests in the center of France.
The wine was racked quarterly for the first year and then aged for a total of 30 months prior to being racked to tank for bottling.
