2002 Cabernet Franc
Release Notes: The concentrated nose of the 2002 Cabernet Franc reveals smoky notes of Darjeeling tea, mingled with fresh aromas of wild blueberries, ripe blackberries and sweet toasty oak. On the palate, dense flavors of blueberry cobbler, crushed herbs and vanilla extract are wrapped in balanced tannins. The creamy mouth-filling texture gives way to notes of cocoa powder on the finish. Robert Parker gave this wine a rating of 89.
Retaste Notes February 2007: The 2002 Napa Valley Cabernet Franc has hit a sweet spot in its development. Flavors are rich and smooth with supple dark fruit and deep notes of earth, coffee and oak. To paraphrase Goldilocks, this wine is neither too young nor too old, but just perfect!
